The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program is a federally funded housing assistance program that provides rental assistance payments to assist income eligible families rent safe, decent, sanitary and affordable housing at reasonable rental rates on the private market.

The Housing Authority of Conway contracts with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the funds to assist the eligible families.

Primary Purpose

Affordability: The purpose ensures that the housing is affordable and reasonable rent is paid in comparison to similar unassisted units.

Quality: Each unit must pass a Housing Quality Inspection and always be in compliance with program requirements.
Choice: Families have the right to select any eligible unit where the owner is willing and approved by the Housing Authority to participate in the program.
